ABOUT
Extensions is a biannual magazine published by the Global Extended Learning and Youth Development Association (GELYDA). This 88-page issue was released in conjunction with GELYDA's 2026 global conference in Seoul, Korea; Building Civic and Community Engagement in Youth Development: A Shared Responsibility of Schools and Extended Education. In addition to being distributed to conference participants, it has been shared internationally with researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and funders.
Guest edited by Denise Montgomery, founder of CultureThrive and the Global Centre for Creative Youth Development, this current issue examines Creative Youth Development: a holistic approach that uses creativity to help young people learn, build confidence, form relationships, and thrive.
The design needed to accommodate substantial, often complex material while maintaining a sense of flow, accessibility, and optimism. The result is a vibrant publication meant to be explored, referenced, and returned to. Request a printed copy or view it online at https://extensions.gelyda.org/.
